I cannot remember a time that I wasn’t making art. As a small child I spent many hours sitting  on the living room floor drawing or painting on paper balanced on a little green stool. That need to create has always been with me.

My work is very diverse, from technical fine pen drawings, to broken glass mosaics, to mixed media abstract paintings. Constantly, I seek out new processes and products to experiment with and incorporate into my art. I’m fortunate enough to live in a community filled with amazingly talented artists who I can share ideas with and learn from.

I am passionate about bringing out the creativity in others. I believe that the creative process is essential to us as human beings. Creativity is a process – or a journey,  and not necessarily important to the outcome of the work. At the Armory Art Center, you can join me for many classes, such as acrylic pour painting, social painting, Gelli Monoprinting, alcohol ink pinting, still life drawing, and kids classes. These are just a few of the wide range of classes offered at the Armory Art Center.  Please check out our website or Facebook to see everything we're doing.  I strive to make all of my classes fun and educational. I believe that art and the act of creating it is therapeutic for everyone. Personally, my art has always been a very important part of navigating life’s challenges. Whether I reach one person in a class - or 10 - I feel blessed. Sign up for one of my classes you will be amazed at how talented you REALLY are!

I love the way pastel handles, the immediacy of color and texture as it is drawn across various surfaces. The beauty of layering different colors together to highlight or subdue areas is so satisfying.

Capturing the figure as it displays its many attitudes is a favorite pastime for me.  I also enjoy painting the quiet corners and sweet spots of interiors that you might see as you pass a doorway.

Landscapes beckon to me displaying their fields and atmospheres so I must also stroke these images with its magical gifts.  Painting brings me the joy I seek in my life, I joy I wish to share with you.
